Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the event had to be rescheduled to the current dates.

After winning the bid, the UAE became the first Middle Eastern country to host the Expo, defeating Russia, Turkey, and Brazil in an international voting process that was held in Paris.

The total number of participating countries in the Dubai Expo 2020 stands at 191. The event will see each country celebrating an honour or national day throughout the six-month long event, for the first time in Expo history. The event is expected to attract 25 million visitors during Dubai Expo 2020.

The Expo Passport has also been introduced by Dubai Expo 2020. Visitors who buy it can personalise it with their own information, and they’ll be able to travel the world all in one place. They can collect stamps while exploring more than 200 participating pavilions and creating memorable experiences with family and friends without leaving Dubai.
