This initiative complements Digital Dubai’s vision of building an AI-driven city, thereby boosting efficiency and the ease of doing business. The digital transformation is projected to add over AED100 billion to the economy each year.
The Digital Dubai Government Establishment and the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment are key in creating a system that unifies all data from various organisations into a single platform. For entrepreneurs, this results in:
So, by reducing fragmentation, the platform simplifies business set-up and improves access to government services. This lowers entry barriers and supports wider participation in Dubai’s business environment.
Aside from administrative efficiency, data is imperative in Dubai’s economic strategy. The government treats data as a key economic asset, using platforms that combine open data with AI-driven analytics to generate actionable insights. This enables:
Centralised and transparent data improves investor confidence and creates a level playing field for SMEs, giving them access to insights previously limited to larger firms. This supports innovation and encourages new business formation.
At the same time, digital systems improve operational stability, which is essential for both starting and scaling businesses in Dubai.
Moreover, the new Government Resource Planning systems, developed in partnership with the Department of Finance, promote financial and human resource integration throughout the public sector. This raises service delivery standards throughout the emirate’s business world.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has also launched digital projects to help the city become future-ready and to boost its standing as a global leader in AI adoption across its government bodies. Led by Digital Dubai, these projects have the potential to add over AED 10 billion in economic output over the next 2 years as part of the city’s digital transformation plan.
A key part of this agenda is building AI infrastructure, which includes:
The new systems boost businesses in emerging industries and enhance technology adoption, making Dubai a more attractive location for innovation-driven startups. By providing access to open data and analytics, these systems help both SMEs and multinational companies make informed decisions and strengthen their competitiveness.
