With this in the background, in an attempt to stay ahead of all the technology-related happenings and integrate the latest innovations into the very operating fabric of the Emirate, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Council, approved the second phase of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy in November 2022.
The initiative is designed to bolster the digital economy and facilitate the integration of the metaverse and future technologies into the city’s technological ecosystem. At the approval of the new phase of the strategy during the first meeting of the Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy, HH Sheikh Hamdan stated that Dubai was on track to becoming one of the world’s top digital economies and a leading platform for future-shaping innovations.

In his tweet on November 24, HH Sheikh Hamdan said, “I chaired the first meeting of the Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy. @HHShkMohd’s vision has established Dubai as a global capital for the digital economy. As we prepare for the metaverse world, a new digital future is being shaped by the UAE.”
In addition to improving Emirati skills and establishing a metaverse community, the strategy’s new initiatives aim to bring metaverse investors, businesses, and users together in Dubai. Furthermore, the initiatives under the strategy involve projects and events designed to establish the Emirate as a regional and global hub for events related to the metaverse.
There has been discussion about how the Dubai Metaverse Strategy will be implemented and how the 100-day plan will facilitate the contribution of government entities to the digital economy.
With a particular emphasis on digital technology, the strategy aims to create a new model of technological advancement and futuristic sciences.
