Dubai Municipality has launched the ‘Work from Park’ initiative, a first-of-its-kind project designed to transform public parks into integrated spaces that combine productivity, leisure, and nature. The initiative is a direct response to the rise of hybrid and remote work, and it specifically targets entrepreneurs, freelancers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the broader remote-working ecosystem.
The first flagship destination will open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park, featuring modular workspaces built to high sustainability standards and integrated into the natural environment. Additional locations across Dubai are planned for later in the year.
“Dubai Municipality’s Work from Park initiative reflects our commitment to transforming public parks into future-ready urban spaces that enhance quality of life while supporting economic activity,” said Bader Anwahi, chief executive of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality.
The ‘Work from Park’ initiative is a key component of several overarching strategies for the emirate. According to Dubai Municipality, the project directly supports the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy, aligns with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, and contributes to the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
This alignment underscores a broader urban philosophy: that quality of life and economic productivity are not competing interests but mutually reinforcing pillars of a future-ready city. By activating public parks as multi-functional assets, the municipality is demonstrating how green spaces can support modern work patterns and foster community engagement.
To bring this concept to life, Dubai Municipality has signed two Memoranda of Cooperation with Group AMANA and Letswork.
Omar Almheiri, Co-Founder of Letswork, described the project as “a significant step toward redefining the future of flexible work in the UAE,” adding that it will provide “inspiring, tech-enabled environments that break the traditional office mold”.
For businesses, the initiative offers a tangible expansion of the emirate’s commercial infrastructure. It reduces reliance on traditional office models while providing a professional and inspiring setting for meetings, collaboration, and focused work. For companies seeking to attract and retain top global talent, it reinforces Dubai’s understanding that workplace flexibility and urban wellness are key drivers of long-term competitiveness.
The initiative will be implemented through a structured public-private partnership model, which Dubai Municipality notes will open new avenues for private sector participation and stimulate investment.
The ‘Work from Park’ initiative reflects a city that continues to adapt its public infrastructure to the fluid realities of modern business. By embedding productivity into the urban landscape, Dubai is strengthening the ecosystem for innovation and economic growth, one park at a time.
