Dubai’s healthcare sector: a global model of excellence and growth

Bed capacity has also been a priority, with 6,400 beds available across the private and public healthcare sectors as of 2021. This significant investment ensures accessible and comprehensive care for the growing population of Dubai.

Furthermore, Dubai’s commitment to healthcare excellence is evident in its ever-expanding pool of highly skilled medical professionals. According to DHA data cited by state news agency WAM, the number of licenced medical professionals in Dubai reached an impressive 55,208 in 2022, reflecting a remarkable 61 percent increase from previous years. The workforce comprises doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, and technicians, collectively ensuring that the highest quality of care is delivered to everyone.

Recent data from the DHA reveals that a total of 143 health facilities were licenced in the first quarter of 2023, resulting in a remarkable 11.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This upward trend emphasises Dubai’s emergence as a magnet for healthcare investment.

Dubai’s healthcare sector has embraced the latest technological advancements to enhance patient care and experience. The city’s medical facilities, care providers, and services have earned the trust of international patients seeking quality healthcare solutions. With a remarkable 159,000 surgeries conducted in 2021 alone, Dubai’s healthcare system has become a symbol of trust and excellence worldwide.
