They say a nation’s greatness depends on its leaders. The UAE has been blessed in this sense. We’ve had exemplary leaders who have been involved in nation-building right from the inception of the country. Our leaders have exhibited the values of empathy, innovation, and constant learning—something that has rippled down to everyone who lives in the UAE, thereby making it a country of the stature it is today.
From the lessons in acceptance and honouring diversity to the art of never giving up and embracing innovation, we’ve learnt from our leaders and will continue to do so. Our interactions with our leaders are like knowledge sharing by the elders of a family—a family as big as a nation.
Recently, the UAE’s newly appointed President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, addressed the nation. In the much-awaited address, His Highness set out his vision for the nation, urging the people of the country to brace up for all that the future holds, equipped with the right attitude and foundational values.
The national address touched upon various topics, including the need for diversifying the economy; the plans to encourage the people to seize the presented opportunities and prosper; and the importance of hard work, dedication, and innovation in further boosting the growth avenues for the nation. One of the key takeaways was the mention by the President that empowering the nation’s people was the top priority for its leaders. The encouraging words mean we are looking at a brighter future.
For the business community, the President’s address opens endless avenues to further growth and boosts growth. His Highness said that sustainability, transparency, sovereignty, and security are crucial and that the already thriving UAE economy continues to grow at an impressive rate. He said that the UAE is blessed with many resources, especially high-skilled human capital.
He touched upon the need for continuing the national policy of supporting peace and stability in the region and also talked about the country’s sovereignty and security as being fundamental to the leaders.

The quote that concludes the optimism in the President’s message was, “Today, we see our nation ranked among the most advanced nations globally, as well as being one of the best places to live and work.”
Needless to say, we are a blessed nation; we have the best leaders.
