The establishment of The National Space Fund signifies the UAE’s dedication to supporting the space program. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasised that the fund aims to support the establishment of national companies in the space sector and boost strategic national research projects. The Sirb project, another initiative, was also launched to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness in the space sector.
Managed and supervised by the UAE Space Agency, The National Space Fund, aims to support ground-breaking programs that foster collaboration between international and Emirati companies in engineering, sciences, and research applications within the space sector. By building national capabilities, the fund seeks to elevate the UAE’s economic contribution, diversify the national economy, and solidify the country’s position as a leading force in the space industry.
The National Space Strategy 2030 acts as a guiding framework to translate the UAE’s national space policy into high-priority initiatives and programs. This strategy encompasses governmental, commercial, and scientific space activities conducted by public and private sector entities, academic institutions, and research and development centers.
