Of Dubai’s unwavering ascendancy and economic resilience

Dubai never fails to amaze. Be it in ranks, in year-after-year accomplishments, or in everyday functioning – we always have a reason to feel proud of our land. As I sit back to write this, I am filled with pride and admiration for the recent accomplishments of our beloved city.

This time the reason is a social media post by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council. In a recent announcement His Highness mentioned about Dubai’s retention of its No. 1 spot globally for attracting Greenfield FDI projects in 2022, with FDI capital inflows of AED 47 billion.

This announcement is much more than just a few words of encouragement – it has rather instilled a renewed sense of confidence and optimism in business community in the city. Such exceptional achievements reflect the strategic vision outlined by the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which sets forth our commitment to elevating Dubai’s status as a leading global business and investment destination.

One cannot understate the significance of Dubai’s achievement in capturing 4 per cent of the global Greenfield FDI projects in 2022. This accomplishment reaffirms our position as a magnet for international investment and a hotbed for entrepreneurial ventures – something that we, at Seed Group, have closely seen. Dubai’s leadership and relentless efforts have played a pivotal role in fostering an environment conducive to innovation, growth, and prosperity over the years keeping us ahead of the curve.

Notably, recently, Dubai has also claimed the top spot in the Middle East and Africa, ranking ninth globally, in the best city brands, as per a recent Brand Finance report. With an impressive overall score of 75.8 out of 100, the city’s allure and magnetic appeal continue to captivate the world.

It must be noted that these accomplishments are not a stroke of luck but a testament to the unwavering commitment of Dubai’s leaders to foster an environment that nurtures economic growth and embraces progressive policies. The city has consistently been at the forefront of innovation, and this has been instrumental in attracting global businesses and entrepreneurs seeking a platform to thrive.

Such is the impact of these time-to-time accomplishments that we are even more motivated to dedicating our efforts towards continuously diversifying our economy, and fostering a supportive ecosystem for businesses that helps us propel the emirate even further on the global stage.
